FAQs About Medical Missions

What is the model for HHN? Jesus' own ministry style is ours; “And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” (Matthew 9:35-36) So medical missions is always both a word and deed approach to ministry.  Who can go on a HHN trip? What is Hands of Healing for the Nations (HHN)?

The medical missions arm of Advancing Native Missions is called Healing Hands for the Nations (HHN).  HHN is a ministry that uses medicine as a tool to help in ministering the gospel to indigenous people groups around the world. We do this in a variety of ways:

  • HHN may be invited by an indigenous evangelist to hold medical clinics in an area not previously open to his ministry.
  • HHN may use medical clinics to minister to people who have no local access to medical care.
  • HHN will often team up with a short term missions trip to offer medical care as we also do other ministry.
  • HHN raises funds for medicines and supplies to be shipped to indigenous medical ministries associated with ANM.
  • HHN cares for the health of the indigenous workers when they come to the ANM home office
